CASyM winter school of Systems Medicine took place between March 29th and April 1st 2017 in Ljubljana, Slovenia and is entitled »The 3rd SysBioMed hands-on tutorial: Systems Medicine Approaches in Personalized Medicine«
10TH CFGBC Symposium with ISBE and CASyM workshops:
“From Functional Genomics to Systems Biology and Systems Medicine”
Hands-on tutorial Systems Biology/Medicine
We are pleased to invite you to the 10th CFGBC Symposium with ISBE and CASyM workshops organized together with a Hands-on tutorial Systems Biology/Medicine. The events will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 30th June to 3rd July 2015 at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana.
The 10th CFGBC Symposium with ISBE and CASyM workshops will be a one day event attended by leading scientists from systems biology/medicine that are giving a joint effort inside ISBE and CASyM consortia to promote this new and exciting field in Europe and beyond. The symposium and workshops are free of admission.
In the afternoon the closing of the Symposium and workshops will serve as an opening of the following 3 day hands-on tutorial Systems Biology/Medicine. The tutorial is dedicated primarily to doctoral and post-doctoral students, medical doctors and other medical professionals. A poster is obligatory for participants attending the tutorial. The 3 day event will consist of 5 tutorials and one lecture in which participants will learn to solve systems biology/medicine problems by using their computers and actively participating in discussions. The number of participants is limited and the candidates will be selected on the basis of their curriculum vitae and poster abstract. Up to two best candidates will be awarded with free registration (2 if more than 20 and 1 if more than 10 applications will be received respectively.)
The event will be accredited by ECTS: 5 ECTS for doctoral students (oral presentation of poster obligatory), 3 ECTS for diploma and masters students (Subject: Functional Genomics in medicine).
The European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) has granted 23 European CME credits (ECMEC) to participants attending the workshops and the hands on tutorials. A maximum of 6 CME credits per day can be granted. All participants will receive a certificate of attendance, with which they will be able to apply for the recognition of credits for continuing education with their national medical chambers or professional associations.
Apart from the very exciting and engaging scientific programme, the event will be the perfect opportunity to meet eager and bright-minded young scientist in the beautiful summer-time setting of Ljubljana. According to the Lonely Planet, Ljubljana is “one of Europe’s greenest and most livable cities, with a vibrant cultural, café and nightlife scene that gives it the feel of a perpetual street party”. Its central position also serves as the ideal base to explore Slovenia, which is “as picture-perfect as Switzerland, but much easier on the wallet”.
The moto of the whole event is therefore »Scientifically and Socially Enriched Summer School/Tutorial«
We are looking forward to seeing you in Ljubljana, one of the best hidden gems of Europe.
