From arrays to understanding diseases
The 4th CFGBC Symposium "From arrays to understanding diseases" with international participation will be organized on June 17th, 2009, to celebrate the fourth anniversary of CFGBC.
The symposium will cover topics on various applications of bio-chips with a specific focus on gaining in-depth knowledge of diseases. Research activities of the members of the Slovenian Consortium for Bio-Chips and collaborating foreign institutions will be presented.
The official language of the symposium is English.
Consortium members are invited to present their current and planned research that includes activities at the Center. Younger researchers and postdocs working with bio-chips are invited to present their research plans on posters.
The symposium is not limited to the members of the Slovenian Consortium for Bio-Chips; international collaborators of the Center are strongly encouraged to present their work.
Commercial partners of the Center are invited to present their solutions and also to financially participate in the organization of the symposium: see an invitation letter (also available in Slovene: vabilo sponzorjem).
Abstracts of oral presentations and posters will be published in a book of abstracts together with sponsor's advertisements. The books will be available to the participants on the day of the symposium. See books of abstracts from previous events:
The symposium will take place from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, Korytkova 2, Ljubljana, Slovenia. The lectures will be held in the large lecture room on the left from the entrance. Exhibition of posters and commercial solutions will take place in the hall in front of the lecture room.
The lectures will start with an opening speech of the representatives of the Center. During an half-an-hour coffee break and a lunch break posters will be presented. The symposium will finish at 5:00pm followed by an unofficial visit to the Center.
All participants are requested to register online. Registration is free of charge. Participants are also invited to submit abstracts and present their work at the symposium either as an oral presentation or a poster. Abstracts of oral presentations and posters will be published in a book of abstracts. For details please see the registration and abstract submission guidelines.
Registration and abstract submission deadline has been prolonged until May 18th, 2009 at 12pm (noon).
