CASyM winter school of Systems Medicine took place between March 29th and April 1st 2017 in Ljubljana, Slovenia and is entitled »The 3rd SysBioMed hands-on tutorial: Systems Medicine Approaches in Personalized Medicine«
Laser scanner LS200 from Tecan can be used for detection of fluorescently labeled molecules on microarrays (DNA, tissue or cell) or on microtiter plates. The two lasers 543 and 633 nm are used to excitate the fluorescent dyes, which are common in microarray technology (Cyanin-3 and 5, Alexa). Minimal pixel resolution is 6 µm, dynamic range is 5 orders of magnitude and sensitivity is 0.1 molecule Fluorescein/ µm2. Maximal scan area is a size of the microtiter plate; therefore, one can load up to 4 glass slides or one microtiter plate in the scanner.
